Since the life cycle of sperm is about 70 days, the changes that your partner makes today will take about two and a half months to have any effect on his sperm health.
Here are a few tips on improving sperm.
Don’t:
Sit in hot baths for a long period of time –High body temperatures can kill sperm.
Smoke – Smoking is associated with low sperm counts.
Drink too much alcohol – You probably do not need to completely abstain but you should drink moderately.
Exercise too strenuously – Strenuous exercise may increase the temperature of your testicles. It may also cause changes in testosterone levels that lead to decreased production of sperm.
Do:
Stay Healthy and Fit – Moderate exercise improves a man's general health and is good for his sperm. Get plenty of rest, drink plenty of water and minimize stress.
Try to BD every 36 to 48 hours. This keeps the sperm “fresh”. Sperm that is “older” than a week to 2 weeks is less active.
Avoid drugs – Especially recreational drugs. Many prescription drugs can damage sperm production. Please check with your doctor about the possible impacts of any medication you are taking.
Be careful about using lubricants – The more common lubricants are harmful to sperm. If you find you need to use a lubricant, then Pre-Seed is specially formulated to be kind to sperm.
BD in the early morning or afternoon. It is believed that sperm levels are often higher in the morning.
Take a vitamin supplement that includes: Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin B12, Selenium, Zinc Arginine, Carnitine. Fertility Supplements such as FertilAid for Men and Fertilpil Plus are great "all in one" supplements that improve Sperm health.
